Superwomen

SUPERWOMEN

Who are we, ever wondered?

While whisking the batter for a cake

               your family loves to devour?

Weary, nevertheless, giving the push : For we never give up

 on life’s ambush.

Weird, is it? When we call ourselves soldiers,

wearing bright chap sticks and bare shoulders?

Where is it that we belong? Haven’t

we co-existed all along?

Old times to new : when fashion

out dates faster than news, yet

old minds remain the same, looking for the

 ‘ominous’ without shame.

Ominous witches some of us are:

ought to be burnt on a stake at the bazaar.

O’ how can some of us be Goddesses then? Sitting

on a gigantic pot of wealth ?

Meandering are your thoughts - in a

man’s world you’ve stepped on. Being a cop, how’d you

manage to be a good mom?

Mercy in your heart, intolerant of the wrong,

Man, how you’ve misjudged us all along. The all

mighty queen, ever heard of?

Mighty doesn’t sound feminine at all. For

might is to kings and gossip to queens. Cuss words

make a girl obscene.

Aunt , sister, or mother, or

 a well raised daughter. Or

 a diligent, dutiful wife

are roles you’ve celebrated all your life.

And now to be a little more,

Apart from regular , necessary chores.

As you lend wings to your dreams ;

A businesswoman leading her own team. Or

a dancer gracing the stage,

As you break free from your own little cage.

                                               Remember,there is

an entire world for you to take. Remember you

are the strongest creation of nature’s make.

Nights have passed, and days,

National forums at a rage.

“Man or woman? ” was the question :

never has a debate caused such tension.

Now tell me ladies , would you ?

Is that even a question to be argued?

Nature’s laws have made us both,

Not to fight and hate and loathe. We

need to stop to see who’s better and

nurture love and respect for each other. Yet

never let anyone show us down,

thinking we are just pretty princesses in a gown.

Nice as a drizzle or harsh as the pouring rain,

       We are the modern superwomen

P.S :If you haven't noticed already, each

paragraph is dedicated to each alphabet of

the word "WOMAN". Happy Women's Day!
