Silver
It's a dreamy night.
Ink splattered,
star dust scattered
with swirling galaxies
adorning a quiet night.
Silver blooms by a silver stream :
blooming together on nature's whim.
Just like two souls married
on a similar dreamy night.
They too, blossomed together.,
From nascent, innocent buds,
young and tender.
Before the fires of experience
hardened soft clay -
building pillars super strong.
Together they started spinning
weaves of a finer dream ,
knitting together a family along.
It wasn't a waltz particularly.
With silver seams and a silver spotlight.
But rather a phoenix rising
from ashes everytime.
They tripped, they fell,
they hurt, they revelled.
Not every dream spells sugar and spice
and everything nice.
The petals are of a dazzling hue,,
Spread like the wings of a bird
They add colour everywhere they go,
and a scent that speaks words
of optimism and love.
They made their own melody of love
and stringed some words this way :
That flowed like an honest prayer
that a heart might want to say.
Love isn't born perfect but tended to perfections.
Trust isn't born strong : strengthens as nourished.
Perceptions arise from nurtured interests :
While together in harmony we flourish.
Today is my parents' 25th wedding anniversary. This poem was composed yesterday, specially for them only, keeping them in mind. So of course, this poem is dedicated to my lovely parents, Jayanta and Devapriya Kar. May they prosper and shine together forever and ever and may God bless them in every way possible. I feel truly blessed to have parents like them. Following are a few pictures of us, then and now.
