Tell-tail : The many words of the Koel
Blossoms on the porch,
And tweety on the perch,
what is it, oh Koel,
That you're on search?
What is it, so earnestly,
you want to convey..
Your life tribulations?
or stories from far away?
Or is this your
almost vain attempt,
to nudge us from our dullsville?
And enjoy the brief bounties
of a colourful spring?
Oh my shy koel,
why do you hide in the thickets?
why don't you sing in the bright sun
with the cuckatoos, magpies and crickets?
Do the worldly atrocities scare you,
just as it frightens my very core?
Or are you the equable one
to whom the world's a bore?
Or maybe you are calling out
to your one, true mate out there,
and you sing us a pretty song,
while you perch on that branch and wait.
Blossoms on the shoots,
a sweet fragrance in the air,
Koel, dear Koel,
sing your heart loud and clear.
The harbinger of colours,
the harbinger of spring..
Let the world go about,
as your sweet tunes ring.
